Breakfast at Emmy's

4 month shots, she is a champ

Big advancements at the DeLo household. Well, if you consider awesome head holding, rolling over like a maniac and eating slop advancements! In our world, its huge!

Emmy has had two meals of organic brown rice cereal as of today. The first was as expected, unenjoyable and messy. The second, just as messy but she seemed to have some fun with it. She even managed to take two or three mouthfuls and swallow in succession. We sit her in the bumbo or her bouncy chair on the kitchen table, donning only a diaper and bib, and do all the silly faces and noises as we guide her rubber infant spoon to her tiny mouth and fill it with something that resembles “sandy milk”, as one of our friends so blatantly put it. We will be sharing this meal together once a day for a couple days, then go to two, maybe three times a day and shortly after introducing some veggies. I already have a stock pile of organic veggies from the inlaws garden ready to be processed in the baby food maker. I’m looking forward to peaches and bananas, mostly because I like pureed bananas and peaches haha.

Emelia has also mastered rolling over, at least to the right. She is like Zoolander, she can only roll well to one side haha. This morning, after a long restless night due to hunger and teething issues, I found her smashed up against the side of her crib fast asleep. She didn’t seem to notice the huge dent she put in her head. Luckily, it wasn’t serious and popped out a few minutes after being rescued from the outskirts of her crib mattress. Really, are those cribs even big enough for the tumbles of a four month old? I feel like there should be extensions specifically designed for a rolling infant haha.

She has also learned to enjoy splashing in the bath, playing with bath toys and sometimes likes being tickled. Oh and my favorite, the fake cough. Enjoy some videos below of Emelia doing what she does best, being cute. Don't judge us on our parenting skills, we are still acquiring them haha.
